Ref: Resumption of Public Masses

Adhering to the Governmentfs decision to extend the on-going Declaration of a State of Emergency of Tokyo till Sept 30, all the Public Masses of parishes in the Tokyo Archdiocese including Machida Church will be suspended while the Declaration is in effect.
Today, ministers and the operating committee of Machida Church decided our schedule as follows on the basis the Declaration will be lifted on Sept 30. If the Declaration is further extended, the schedule below may be altered.
1. All the in-person Masses on weekend (Sat: 18:30~ , Sun: 7:30~ and 10:30~) and weekday (Fri: 10:00~) are suspended in Sept.
Even during the suspension period, Fr. Hayashi solely holds Mass every day wherein a tribute for the loved ones is available through church office.)
2. 10:30 Mass on Sun, Oct 3, is inclusive of a Rite of Confirmation, and the pew is expected full up with the Confirmation Applicants, godfather/godmother and their families. So, we are compelled to ask the faithful of Machida Church to stay at home to view live-streaming of the Mass on YouTube.
10:30 Mass on Sun, Oct 3, is celebrated by Archbishop, Tarcisius Isao Kikuchi. Those who attend the Mass are limited to the Confirmation Applicants, godfather/godmother and their families. All the Parishioners of Machida Church please attend the Mass at home on YouTube. Your kind understanding and cooperation are appreciated.
¦ Except for 10:30 Mass on Oct 3, there will be no Mass on Oct 2 (Sat) and no 7:30 Mass on Oct 3 (Sun).
3. The Public Mass (in-person) segregated by the residential area will restart from Sat, Oct 9, and Sun, Oct 10. Please refer to the attached residential block chart and find which block you belong to. Fri Mass at 10:00 will restart from Oct 8.
4. Church activities and Educational Programs
EBiblical Class ( Fri, after 10:00 Mass): Presently closed. Will make announcement when to restart.
EIntroductory Class (10:00~ Sat): Open every week now. (Classes on Sept 25 and Oct 30 are closed.)
EA final rehearsal for the Rite of Confirmation is scheduled for Sept 26 (Sun) at 10:30. Confirmation
Applicants please attend it, and their godfather/godmother please also attend if possible.
Looking forward to seeing you all here in Machida Church next month. Pray to God and keep in mind to take care of your health management. Pray also for the brothers and sisters who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this time.
